Importance of Learning Games in Early Childhood Education

There are many ways to teach a child today and it doesn't have to wait until they enter kindergarten. Today in order for a child to get into kindergarten they are expected to know all the basics that were once taught in kindergarten; how to write their name, their address, phone number, all their colors, how to count to ten, how to count back, and more. These were once things that did not need to be taught beforehand but are now considered a requirement otherwise the child will struggle from the beginning.

Learning games can help your child learn all the basic information before they start kindergarten. Then when school starts your child will excel in everything because they will be able to keep up. The first thing your child needs to learn when writing is how to make a straight line, circle, slanted lines, and curves. You can have a monkey see, monkey do learning game so your child can mimic every move you make and you can teach them how to write.

If your child needs help learning colors then you can take your child outside and find primary colors such as green in the trees, blue in the sky, and colorful flowers. This game can be fun for your child but at the same time your child will be learning. You can also teach colors with food. Kids love to try new snacks and snacks are colorful. You have orange carrots, red apples, green grapes, and yellow lemons. There are so many ways to bring a lesson of colors into your child's daily routine.

Let's not forget bath time. This is the time that your child takes a few moments to relax and unwind. No not really; they want to make the biggest splash and have the most suds. Their bathwater turns into an underwater sea adventure with unidentified sea creatures lurking below the bubbles. Turn this time into learning time, count bubbles, count toys, and more. There are so many things you can do with just a few simple toys and some water.

Another learning game for your child is counting. You can do this with their favorite cereal or snack. Have them give you five pieces of cereal and you can give them two pieces back. How many pieces do you get to keep? There are many ways you can turn these fun games into a learning game instead. Your child will laugh and learn at the same time.

When your child needs to learn something you need to put it in a fun game so they can laugh while playing and not realizing that they are actually learning something instead. Creating games just takes a few minutes and your child can laugh for hours.

You can make doing chores a learning game as well. If you want your child to pick up toys have them count how many toys they can pick up before the clock dings. The one who picks up the most toys will win.
